The currency of Ireland is the euro whereas, cos northern Ireland is part of the UK , it's currency is the pound. I would consider going there cos a) you'll get more bang for your buck b) it'll still feel Irish and c) it also has spectacular countryside. Also I hear that Belfast is great.
