Ugh the doctor was SOOoooo frustrating.
Have you noticed doctors seem willing to throw drugs at you for EVERYTHING but losing weight? I asked my doctor to listen to my breathing because at night just before I fall asleep I have been hearing this crackling / rails.. she didn't hear anything but, get this... she was going to give me a sleeping pill so I could sleep better? Uh.. no. How do you get THAT out of that story?
But then I asked for Phentermine (a 30 year old drug that is proven safe and effective) and she literally made me talk for 30 minutes to justify it. She also tried to get me to take another drug, a newer one, a combination of Phentermine and an anti seizure drug, but I had to insist on just the phentermine because i know that works and I know it isn't dangerous. I don't know about a combination of pills and I also don't know if my insurance will pay for it.
Finally she prescribed the wrong dose. She prescribed Apex (generic) (37.5mg) and I stopped her because I wanted 15 mg Phentermine.. and she went around and around on the idea that she can't control what the pharmacy gives me. Man it was a fight to explain to her that she had given me the wrong dose and that I spoke to the pharmacy about this issue once and they claimed they could NEVER substitute a drug unless the doctor directed them to. So I needed her to direct them in the first place to give me the proper pill and also, that the pill I was looking for was 15 and 30 mg dose. Finally she ordered the right thing.
But I have a 30 day supply. Debating if I should start tomorrow or on the weekend.
