I really don't know an answer to this and I'm so sorry it's happening for you. My nightmares are pretty random. I would watch what I eat before bed. I've noticed that if I eat red meat a couple hours before bed time it makes nightmares worse. And you may also want to try some grounding and self relaxation techniques before bed. Breathing exercises, and things like that.
