My damaging x therapist got away with murder. He was helpful at times, okay at times. But there were times that he was invalidating and damaging. I saw him seven long years. During those years, he had major countertransference in regard to my attachment issues and he taught me to hate this part of me, like he hates that part of him. He failed to accept me for who I was but tried to change me by shaming me for who I was at the time. IT was HIS job to monitor that and to refer me on. It was HIS job to have the knowledge it took to do the job correctly, which he did not have. I have heard it said that he was "out of his league." I wish I could erase him from my life.
