The Skeezyks is no longer on psych med's. But I took Cymbalta (first the name brand & later on the generic equivalent) for well over a year. (I don't recall how long exactly.) It was the best antidepressant (for me) I ever took.

I was on the maximum recommended dosage. And there were virtually no side effects except that, over time, I did begin to notice a slight jerkiness in my hand & arm movements such as when I was be using my computer mouse. However, once I tapered off of the med this jerkiness went away.

Oh... & by the way... when I did finally decide to go off of it, I went in to see my pdoc to get a withdrawal schedule. He recommended a schedule that took me from the maximum recommended dosage down to zero over the course of 2 weeks. I thought that seemed very fast. But since that was his recommendation, I decided to go with it & had few problems as a result... maybe just a bit of increased jitteriness for a while.

If I were ever to consider going back on an antidepressant, Cymbalta would be at the top of my list of possible options. Plus it does provide a certain amount of pain relief. I have a ruptured disc in my low back & sciatica & the Cymbalta helped. The benefit is subtle though & it develops gradually, in my experience. But it helps.
