If you have a fairly low income you can get meds for free from the manufacturer through patient assistance. Even if you are don't meet the exact guidelines (it will be on the manufacturer's website) you can ask for an exemption into the program. I have never been denied asking for exemptions and I have used patient assistance quite a bit over the last 5 years. I have Medicare and sometimes my income is a little too high for the program but they always exempt me in without any problems; I just include a note with the application explaining my circumstances.
