Just say you've heard gabapentin (Neurontin) is helpful for anxiety and could you try it. It's not a benzo and it works really well. If I get past my depression I can even start weaning off klonopin because gabapentin is more effective and not addictive and I prefer how it makes me feel. (and I've been on benzos for 16 years)
