My T sees clients two days a week. Other weekdays she teaches psychology at a University.
She shares an office with other MH professionals.
Her therapy office is in a medium-sized office building near downtown.
T is 70.
Reception- Friendly staff are located behind a locked sliding glass window. The door leading to the therapist's offices is also locked. Clients must be buzzed through to go in or to leave. That kind of concerned me but I'm over it. Lol
Waiting room- furniture in the is a bit worn and not very comfortable. There is a generous amount of current popular magazines. WiFi available. There is a kid's corner complete with Lego table, large shelves with bins of toys and children's books.
T's office- once you are buzzed through you have a short walk down a hall past other T offices. T's office is pleasant. The motif or theme of the office seems to be a "jungle." She has a few pictures on the wall. One is of a giraffe mother kissing a baby giraffe. Another picture is of trees...bamboo-like. Difficult for me to describe.
As you look into the room starting at the farthest wall you will see a large window complete with a colored blind. T's desk is in the corner next to the window. She usually has her laptop open on it, knickknacks, table lamp, potted plant and misc. Next to T's desk you would see a free standing plant stand with plant, a larger thriving potted plant in the opposite corner. Next to the plants there is a giant stuffed toy giraffe.
There is a book shelf containing books, knickknacks, and three small stuffed animals (that belong to me, actually.)
Coming closer to the office door we have two matching eggshell-colored upholstered chairs with a small black table between them. T sits on one of these chairs...there is a folded throw blanket draped across the back of her chair.
The client's vinyl love seat Is placed beside the office door. There is a large stuffed toy cat on the floor behind T's chair.
