But I do recall, some time ago, reading an article in our local newspaper that talked about how it is possible to become so tired that one has difficulty sleeping. So I presume that what you're experiencing isn't necessarily out of the ordinary.
I presume you're familiar with all of the recommendations that are typically made with regard to preparing for bedtime. That information is easily accessed on the internet.

When I can't sleep I get up & do walking meditation walking slowly around-&-around throughout our dark & quiet home for an hour or even two occasionally. When I do finally go back to bed, I usually fall asleep.
