I went to see my therapist yesterday, today my cpn (community psychiatric nurse)came to see me for 1.5 hours.....I seriously am exhausted.....My T things cbt, which is what my nurse is doing, conflicts with the deep trauma therapy I am going through. In a nice way I put this to my cpn today and told her that I agree with everything she is trying to do, get me motivated, excercise, turn negative thoughts to positive etc, I know all this, but it's hard to put into practice when you're feeling particularly low. I had about 2 hours sleep last night so I am going for a nap........my therapist would recommend it, my cpn would recommend going for a walk with the dog.....I have trouble going out on my own anyway, wouldn't this just make me more stressed?
Anyone having the same problems? coflicting advice.
Therapy will last at the least 3 years approx, I've had 11 sessions of cbt, last one next week. The relaxation methods have helped a bit, but everything else is just getting well 'by the book' and is not for everyone IMHO.
