I'm reading a book called "Escaping Emotional Entrapment." Two basic premises of the book are, 1. there is a choice about EVERYTHING. He covers every possible situation, unlike most authors/professionals who neglect to say something about, like, if a person is in the middle of a genocide, being held at gunpoint, etc etc etc He says in some situations, a person can make the decision to stand up to the danger, and die! Yeah, yeah, yeah -- there are martyrs. I'm not one.
The second of the author's premises is "I make myself angry" or "I make myself feel guilty when _________" i.e "I make myself," rather than "such and such situation or comment makes me angry, etc."
I resent it when somebody says to me, "Make it good day!" or "Make yourself a good day!"
What do the rest of you think of all this?
