Last night I went out to a local bar to meet up with someone that I had reached out to on OKCupid. His profile was very well done, insightful and genuine and his personality shone through. He has a charming, "Meet-the-Parents" appearance and a long beard and very attractive. There wasn't much discussion online, he asked me out and I chose the bar. All the times I've been to this bar it has been quiet, but it was Friday and karaoke night on top of it, so it was extremely loud, bright flashes of light, and packed with people. Big crowds and loud activities make me extremely uncomfortable, but there was nothing he did wrong, in fact he kept the conversation going, and the crowd was in a good mood and I had a great time despite the crowd and the noise. He even sang Metallica and Sublime in karaoke and we spent a good chunk of the night outside on the back patio talking. We both realized the venue wasn't the best for a first date, but he promised me we'll have a better first date getting a cup of coffee and I told him I still enjoyed myself and enjoyed meeting him.
