I would probably have lost it and ran home.
Thank You.

It took all my effort not to run and ruin the date. I'm terrified of crowds, especially at a bar where people are drunk because they act stupid and fight. I overheard a couple antagonizing comments not directed at me or my date, but overall the crowd was very happy. Drunk and wasted, but everyone enjoyed themselves and were singing and dancing along to the tone-deaf karaoke. The loudness made it very hard to hear, and I was very overwhelmed, but I reminded myself that I was on a date and to think of it like an interview for a prospective boyfriend. I would be off-putting if I complained or acted moody because I was uncomfortable, so I put all my focus into enjoying the date and I turned it around and made it a positive experience. Out of two hours of tone-deaf karaoke, two girls were actually amazing. One girl did a spot-on breathtaking performance of "Part of Your World" from the Little Mermaid and even the police officers who were acting security cheered and clapped for her. My date did a good performance of Metallica, and when Guns n Roses came on he gushed about how he would spend hours and hours playing the guitar riff and that Slash was his inspiration to continue playing. I have a bad habit of running away from my problems, so I'm very proud I stuck it out despite being overwhelmed and out of the house way past bedtime.
