The health system is very restricted and stupid , this is a true example .
When all of the newer antihistamines were changing and going otc and stuff , I had been taking Allegra for 3 years because I was allergic or unresponsive to all the others.
The insurance company then said they would not pay for Allegra, my doctor informed them it's the only one that works, they insurance said well even though he has a documented history of failure , he has to retake them all for at least three months each to show they still don't work before we will pay for Allegra.
My doctor said this is horse hockey and prescribed Singulair a much more expensive patented drug , they have had no problem paying for.
So they refused to,let me to continue on a medication that cost like $28 bucks, but have been happily paying for the other drug that was around $300 at the time .
The system is broken in both our countries that's for damn sure .
