We use distraction ourselves....or we get enveloped in to it and just watch until we can't handle it any longer. When anxiety hits is when it's worse for us, like a busy supermarket is a major trigger to us (sensory overload)...noises, all the colors, energy vibe, lights.....not even 5 feet into the door then...
I just start reading labels and fondling fruit or whatever to get it together.
I know one of our Others slaps himself to feel the cheek or thigh burn.
