I have tried several different al-anon meetings and all three significantly played up the whole Higher Power component. I realise it is intended to be multi-faith/denominational, but I found all experiences to be highly evangelical and opportunities for proselytization that I found to be entirely unprofessional, questionable, and out of place.

Someone please tell me that this is not the norm. I feel ready to give up.
