I think it's just a matter of forgetfulness and not necessarily a sign or symptom of dissociation. Many, many people have problems taking their medcation on time,or remembering if they took it,including my husband.I'm usually pretty good at remembering to,but probably because I don't take any very often, and when I do it's usually something I need because I'm sick and know that i have to.
My husband though, has such a hard time remembering, even though he takes the same ones every day. He's always asking me "did I take my blood pressure medicine?"And once, recently,he was feeling weird for about a week, was acting a little weird too and finally realized he was taking an antidepressant instead of his blood pressure medication. He doesn't have a dissociative disorder or anything,he's just unorganized and forgetful.Lol.
Maybe you could set an alarm on your phone so you will be reminded?Or download an app to help you?Maybe make sure you stick to a strict routine with it?Maybe even put up post it notes or even write it on your hand?Or do something specific,or eat or drink something specific each time you have to take it so your brain will associate it with taking your meds.Like if you drink a Pepsi each time you take your med,or even eat m&m's,after awhile taking your med along with it will become automatic.Like I have to take daily vitamins according to my doctor,I just automatically do now when I eat breakfast. It's so automatic that alot of times I don't even remember if I did or not until I check the bottle.
