((((alwayschanging)))) hate to tell you this but a leucotomy (your wording lobotomy) doesnt help with dissociative problems. the brain is an amazing thing, when one part is cut out/ damaged other parts of the brain takes over doing what the damaged parts of the brain do. example when someone has a leucotomy the surgery is severing connection of the prefrontal cortex from the rest of the brain. (thats the part of the brain by your forehead) severing this connection doesnt stop the amygdala (a walnut shaped part of the brain that does the reactions like flight or fight, stress, experiencing emotions) from doing its job.
the brain is an amazing thing. sometimes it gives us the ability to think, remember and react and other times it gives us the ability to over think over react ....
maybe it would help if you knew more about how the brain works and stress reduction tools so that you dont have to use alcohol. there are some really good books on amazon. to find them just type in the search bar things like neuropathology, the brain, stress reduction. meditation, mindfulness... any of these words will get you so many textbooks and workbooks that may come in handy for you and your internal stress.
