As a Paramedic/ Firefighter I saw death on a frequent basis , I also saw a lot of life ,both good and bad in equal extremes.
On a more closer to home sense of death , for years it was something that both pissed me off and motivated me,
I had a lot of very close personal loss as a kid , which is kinda what drove me to learn both medicine and religion of many different faiths and cultures( I was Catholic when I started, I am now a "blend" , if something resonated with me in my heart as making sense , I adopted it , no matter the culture or religion it's from )
For many years of life I was clueless about so many things ,I do firmly believe in "spirits" , I have been "visited" on several important occasions which caused me to check on someone or something at a time I ordinarily would not have , this has been a significant "benefit" , I don't know for sure who's "spirit" visited me but I got the message as it were.
In 2013 I myself died in my sleep ,but was found and resuscitated only to drop into a coma , I have a few memories that I shouldn't have and learned a lot while recovering from that ,it took me a good year and a half and if a an old Neurologist of mine who I hated had not of been there I would be still obsessed with figuring out which one of my friends "planked" me .
Death is just another part of life ,as soon as your born you are dying , at what age and time we aren't informed , sometimes modern medicine can intervene sometimes not , the only time machine in this world is the one you come out of with millions of questions that may or may not be answered in the course of life , the simple answer to many things boils down to, it's not the dog in the fight , it's the fight in the dog .
If today was not the best day of your life and your skeptical about tomorow , try missing one, it truly changes everything is the truest sentence I have ever heard.

As people we put way to much emphasis on what is death , probably because we hate mysteries , it's the ultimate question with no good answers because generally once you die, you can't come and tell everyone about, or anyone that "can" is treated like they are a French frie short of a happy meal, even if the truth about death was staring most people in the face they would either deny it , or want independent verification from another source, its best to put emphasis on living and being present in the things we do , dying is much like life , it's not easy. there are many more people to talk to that have answers about living or can guide us in what we do and how we do it , then people who know anything about death for certain, if we do run across somebody we usually don't believe them( I was seeing a therapist ,back in 2013 to help me heal from losing my adoptive Mom, he himself had a near death experience from a cardiac issue years earlier and had a really hard time finding a therapist experienced with the issues it brings up , so he was one of those "lucky" breaks I got in this life ,he's been thru the issues himself so he could really understand what I was trying to understand or could guide me to the root issue of something If I was off course on something , I think he retired last year which is a shame because he was a really good resource for people , and the only one in this region with any idea about "near death issues". )
