I know how you feel. When I was in a big house, I was terribly anxious and convinced there were spirits watching me. I wouldn't leave my room in the dark, even if my family was home and I had to go to the bathroom, cause I was convinced something was going to come out from the dark and kill me. When I did manage to pep talk myself into going out of my room in the dark or if I was alone, I sprinted to my destination and would double to triple check the locks. Having a dog has calmed my down a lot, and we also moved into a smaller space in our apartment. If I am left alone, I lock myself in my room and will only journey out if my dog follows.

Do you live alone? Do you have any pets that could follow you around the house to encourage you to travel in the house?

My suggestion would be to try to start leaving your room when there's daylight so the dark doesn't scare you. Do a little bit at a time.

What frightens you when you leave your room?
