Our search for purpose and meaning to our lives is actually closely linked to our overall mental well-being. Those who feel they have an overarching purpose tend to lead happier lives.

Ultimately, though, the search for objective meaning is in the same wheelhouse as the existence of God...it's not something we will ever have a firm answer on objectively, but we each decide for ourselves based on the evidence we see in our individual lives.

I tend to think that both exist (an objective meaning to our lives and the existence of a higher power). But ultimately, we are too zoomed in (so to speak) to truly understand either. Our job is to look at our experiences, reflect on them, and then choose how to proceed based on that. As more experiences come our way, we get more information to work with.
