I had a complete hysterectomy in Nov 2016. They also surgically scraped my ureters, removed my appendix, ometum, and 9 lymph nodes from various locations. I'm doing great but it was a big surgery and has been a long haul!

I had a 10 inch vertical incision from the bottom of my breast bone, around my bellybutton all the way down to my pubic bone. Internal sutures of course and 35 staples. The scar feels like a cord of tissue not like smooth skin. I don't care that I have a scar, I'm just uncomfortable with clothing and buttons or snaps up against it. It gets red, angry and sore.

I don't wear dresses so that's not happening. Currently I'm using elastic waistbands but I miss my jeans terribly! I massage the scar tissue several times a day with Mederma, sometimes with vitamin E oil. Anyone have any suggestion on how to soften this scar up? It's annoying me to no end.
