I catch myself, when I'm lost in thought and unable to claw my way out of it, staring at people I love. Sure, I feel my love for them and my need to keep them safe, but that's not it. This feeling, like a deep sadness flows through me, carrying with it a voice recording on repeat, "You're gonna break them. You know it. They're going to break because of you. You're gonna break them."

This happens often but becomes increasingly frequent when I'm in a state like this. One in which the thin metal looks sweet and my dark thoughts of release become a sanctuary.

And no one can help. I was a fool for believing otherwise. Who can help someone who only desires pennies to be placed on their eyes?
