You absolutely have a right to be upset. I would have been upset also. I probably wouldn't have said it to them tho. I would have just sat there and acted like nothing was wrong. Good for you for letting them know!

P.s. I heard somewhere, that even if our feelings are not logical and do not make sense to others (or even us) that they are still our feelings, and we have them for a reason. They shouldn't be ignored or dismissed, by anyone, including ourselves.

If they don't benefit us, for whatever reason, there are ways to deal with that (like emotion regulation in DBT), but the feelings are still happening for a reason, and sometimes trying to find that reason is the best thing we can do.
