I just stated a new job a few months ago and there is a lot more chatter than there was at my last job. My desk spot right now isn't too bad but they are remodeling and I'm moving next week. It seems like the new desks and smaller and closer together. Honestly I have no idea how I will even have enough room to do my work on the new desks. I'm not exactly sure where I'll end up but some places are just huge rooms of like 15 people. I am lucky I don't have to spend the entire workday at my desk most days (I also work in a lab).
I'm just wondering- what happened to having a minimal amount of desk privacy? Didn't cubicles use to be the norm? Why are they going away? I mean it's not that I expect real "privacy" at work but I just feel uncomfortable sitting in a giant room full of people. I am an introvert and that means my entire work day is draining.
