One of the problems with lies is that after a while it can become difficult to recall who you told what to. And that can be anxiety provoking. Plus in the end it can scuttle your ship. Actually if they were really friends, it seems as though they would support you in your efforts, not jibber-jabber about it. Besides... it's really none of your friends' business anyway. But I know how it is. Best wishes with your efforts to get your GPA back up. It's been many decades since I was in school. But I recall being in a similar situation... more than once...
