Bipolar type 3 is generally called cyclothymia. It isn't actually bipolar in the sense that it doesn't meet the criteria for full mania or depression in length and severity of episodes. My understanding is it is still cyclical going between brief bouts of hypomania and depression which I'm sure is also problematic. Hopefully your doctor will help you find some stability in mood.
