I practise mindfulness. I concentrate on things like where I am, what I am holding, what I am touching, etc - and my relationship to them. For instance I may be on a bus. I concentrate on everything from the cold touch of the bars and rails beneath my fingers to the feel and texture of the upholstry to the rivets holding it together and so on. Maybe I am holding a pair of gloves - what do they look like, what do they feel like, I imagine how they were stitched together and on and on.
