I guess it depends on the person.

I would feel upset and discouraged if my pdoc said "you will be back in the hospital". I would also feel like my pdoc was guilt tripping me.

I'd prefer if my pdoc talked to me about my decision and said, "Okay, I respect your decision. If you ever need me, I will be here."
