I believe that is unprofessional of him....and not very ethical. He does not have a crystal ball, so for him to outright say you WILL end up in the hospital (as a definite), and in front of the student nurse is kind of snarky and rude. It would have been a different story if he dealt with it in a professional way, by pointing out the potential risks of discontinuing the meds, while still respecting your decision.

Saying that hospitalization is a risk in general for us Bipolar folks is one thing when stopping meds, but it's a completely another story if he is basically telling you that your fate is sealed. Not very encouraging....and he's supposed to be in the business of helping people feel better! I am glad you feel well though.
