The other thing I was going to say is that in my field, people know each other. So if you showed up with a resume and it said you'd worked places where I knew people or some connection like that, I might just call that person up and ask if they knew of you. When they say they've never heard of you, that would raise a huge red flag for me. So again, be careful with doing this.
