I think there are a lot of members here who wish to remain as anonymous as they can, for whatever reason. I believe that having options for those who wish to let folks know their gender is probably the best we can and should do for the membership. This is just my opinion and of course I would support whatever comes of this, but it seems to me it would be too much work for the site master, if even able to be done.

So, I would say that if you want folks to know how to address you or you want folks to know what your gender is, by all means make it available either on your profile, in your signature or via your status.

For those who don't know what gender a member is or how to address them in a gender way, why not send a pm to the member asking them? I think that's a respectful way to start communication and have a more friendly community.
