It was probably the last time I saw my sperm donor that I called him Uncle Dad. He didn't think it was funny. It turns out that my mom's oldest sister, when she married, married a man that was raising a couple of his nephews. My SD was one of them. My mom knew him as her cousin by marriage. After the SD's first wife died, my mom began seeing him and they married. I was born from that union.
It seems DH is the only one bothered by it. LOL He's asked me quite a few times to explain my family to him.
No gallantry or much of anything interesting there... All I know of my mom's background is her mother. Like I said... that name is dead to me.
Well... except that my maiden name gives a position in royalty. My mom told me it was English but later, a half sister told me it was Scotish. No wonder bagpipes move me to tears!
I always wished that someone had picked up on it and called me by that, but... no such luck. Oh, well.
