a gal i know picked up a piece of legal mail of mine and giggled at the name on it, my legal first name... god knows why my parents put the names in a different order than they planned to use. But i am very very proud of my first name.. it was my grandmother's name and she had a truly difficult life. She was a british home child during the first war. She came here on a ship, alone at the age of 10. She was farmed out basically to do work for farm families. Apparently they did not treat her well.

Her life story is moving and very tragic. i miss her so. That name is precious to me... i've considered using it instead of my current name.
i never changed my last name... i figured i was Gerber Daisy one day and still would be the next.
