Depends on when you started using, as to how "addicted" you might get. I personally think of it as being a bit similar to tobacco. I know my husband could not stop smoking his cigarettes, was on his death bed with his hands unconsciously going through the motions of smoking (fingers spread slightly as if holding a cigarette, arm rhythmically going up and down, rubbing his upper lip and then back to his side). After 60 years, it was his "comfort". But it caused the GERD that caused the cancer that killed him at only 72.
