An interesting piece in the BMJ = British Medical Journal suggests that while financial COI = conflicts of interest are well documented, the theoretical model preferred by the authors isn't, leading to the potential for bias in research.

So allegiance to a particular modality of treatment is likely to give more favourable reports in the literature, for the same therapy.
