Everyone has an idea about what tragedy is.
Everyone has a capability to dismiss
What is real by labeling their eyes blind
But that is not how the eyes were designed.
You see, the greatest tragedy I know is denial.
Denial of one's self and those who put their senses on trial
The eyes and ears being labeled as unreliable witnesses
And the heart, a fool for believing a tragedy such as this.
You believe the lie to avoid the darkness' matter.
You shut your brain down to listen to the elders' chatter.
You choose to see the world through sunshine's matter.
Forcing your ears deaf to your own mouth's chatter.
Thus leaves us a liar who's in dire need of trial by fire
Make them silent until your voice ignites a chior
Because the truth will out, the darkness within
And with an honest shout, the healing may begin.
But you don't want that do you? And that's the tragedy.
