Who here has awesome ideas at the time nixed by a spouse or other loved one that are funny in retrospect?

The past 2 years for me has been trying to buy a miniature donkey, falconry and pottery. I went to see the donkey and called my wife about getting it and.. nope (followed by a week long tantrum). Then I secretly set up an apprenticeship to become a falconer and bought a bunch of books.. then the wife found them (followed by a week long tantrum. it still stings). And then I tried to become a potter (that didn't end well).

(edit: I forgot about the Viking mead hall I wanted to build and tried to convince my wife that I needed it for my business)

Anybody else?
