Man.. If I were in the UK I would not be able to not have a metal detector. Never know when you might find another Sutton Hoo horde or a viking cache. Not to put a crazy idea in your head.. but you can find amazing stuff in the Thames estuary just by walking around at low tide without a metal detector. Thousands of years of wonderful human detritus is revealed. Check out the 'London Mudlarks' ;-)
