Hey All,

What's the relationship between bipolar and hormones?

I was diagnosed in 1989-ish. I was 20 or so. Now I'm almost 50 and peri-menopausal. My moods haven't been this unsteady and hard-to-treat in years and years. I have read that "the change" can affect your stability, but in what I've found, there aren't many details and even fewer recommendations.

The only thing I know for sure is that I cannot take hormone replacement therapy. It's contraindicated for me since I have aural migraines.

What's your experience?

Any thoughts/knowledge you have to share appreciated. Thanks!

You are not your illness. You have an individual story to tell. A name, a history, a personality. Staying yourself is part of the battle.
