Isn't it great to donate hair to a good cause? I used to do it myself, until my own mother wanted to keep the hair for making a wig. Mostly because I'm the one in the family with the healthy long thick red hair. She says it's going to go to anyone in the family who may need it someday, perhaps if they underwent chemotherapy or something and they had none of their own hair for a while. A sort of family heirloom, if you will. Eh, personally, I find it a bit odd, but if it makes her happy, so be it.
