I was on just the Abilify @ 30mgs. My doctor prescribed Trileptal, got the dose up to 1200. At first, I was sedated and had difficulty concentrating. That passed. The agitation, hypomania, and even some of the lingering paranoia faded, leaving (you guessed it) depression.

I think Trileptal can be useful. I've known other people who said it didn't work, but then I noticed that their doctors were using low doses. I think 1200 is on the higher end of standard dosing, but I do think some people go higher than that, for maintenance.

I'm just glad I'm not on Depakote ((shudder)). Somehow, I've managed to avoid lithium all these years, Praise God.
