You know what? This is a feeling I have personally struggled with for a long time. I have been told I'm too sensitive. I've even been told it's a cold world and sometimes being heartless is necessary. Really? Oooookay then...I dunno...maybe the reason the world is so very cold is because there is so much heartlessness in it already and only people with hearts can give it warmth. I truly believe only love can conquer hate. Someone once told me something that really stuck: if I wasn't the kind of person I am, I would not be able to help people the way I have helped them throughout my life. I have concluded that my heart is the greatest gift I have and I refuse to let it turn to stone. Don't let people convince you that the way you are is wrong. It is not. As you can see, not everyone thinks the same way. Search for support in places like this where there are like-minded people who can relate. There are more people like you than you may realize.
