That's what it takes: self care. In fact, it takes GOOD self care at times, even BETTER self care.
I haven't had a real flare of my pain for a few months I think...anyway long enough that I know it hasn't been recent.
But, as many of you know, my desktop cpu died and I had to mess with it to see if the cables were tight, and then pull it... and that, with a sacrum (low back) that is nearly always out of place some, really put my back out and onto one of the sciatic nerves. (This is excruciating pain. It doesn't kill you, it just feels like it will.)
I think I could have "gotten away with" the cables and all...but moving that cpu was a no-no, at least in the thoughtless way I did it. I know it isn't heavy, really...I think?

I need to weigh it LOL... but I didn't even think of my self when I moved it, until it was too late and the thought was, "This is too heavy for me."
So I have suffered all week so far (since Sat night/Sun am) because I did not remember to do GOOD self care.

One would think that after nearly 21 years, I would have this down to a science. I thought I did.
I am at least now able to sit at times, and lie down at times without the unbearable pain... with manageable pain.
My experience can be a reminder to everyone, I hope. Even when you become caught up in the event, such as holiday and family etc, you simply MUST be the one who remembers your own good self care limits, and not be afraid to put your foot down for your own health.
Take care everyone!
