I'm decided I want to get a treadmill. I used one at a gym I was a member of and liked it and it ended up being the "only" equipment I used regularly. Buying one would be cheaper at this point than another gym membership and I'd be able to walk in all sorts of weather, etc. However, convincing my husband it isn't just another "fad"/thing I want and will abandon (like the exercise bike, real bike, the rowing machine, etc.) is another thing :-)
He said we'd talk about it "later" when I approached him awhile ago. I guess I have to shut up and start walking everyday for awhile to show him I'm serious :-)
Hey, youOme, you got a walking "route" where you're at? I once took my car and measured off various distances; 1/4 mile, 1/2 mile, 3/4 and shopping center, etc. to see what I should to and how I could work up to it, etc. I live on a circle and I could just walk around and around and around :-) and have my neighbors laughing at me? I also have a pedometer it might behoove me to find and put on and wander out with now.
Do you prefer the 10,000 steps thing
http://www.shapeup.org/shape/steps.php or regular "mileage" recording? I got a good pedometer and it will do either as well as other stuff.
