I'm on Wellbutrin, Concerta and Depakote. Thankfully it's very obvious due to the side effects when I need to take these.

The Depakote wipes me out, as anticonvulsants are wont to do, and the other two give me a much needed kick in the butt.

I set two alarms for the morning, one 45 minutes before the other. The first one is for meds and drinking a ton of water, the second for actually getting up as my meds start making it easier to pry myself out from under the covers.

Also, your body has very complex chemical cascades that are based on your circadian rythyms. About a half hour before your body decides to get you up, your brain turns on a sequence that tells your stomach to get thinking about food, tells your eyes to come back into focus for the most part, your heart to speed up so norepinephrine(adrenalin) levels are raised, etc. Therefore the Paxil may knock you out - it never made me tired so much as it made me feel better, at least after the first week, so I took it in the AM - but you are probably recommended to take it in the AM due to these chemical reactions causing better absorption and metabolism of the drug. If you take it before bed, there's a likely chance it may not absorb as well as your body starts shutting down processes for the night. It's a matter of efficacy, more than anything.

I hope this helped! Let me know if you have anymore questions.

Anna
