Yes, it's usually best not to disclose a bipolar diagnosis at work. I got burned badly twice and I would never do it again if I were ever to go back to work. Using a vague, "I've been dealing with some personal issues" type of statement is all that's needed in the vast majority of cases; it's really none of your employer's business anyway.
