I think when we give, something enriches us, beyond reciprocity. I do resent when I find so little reciprocity, though. I wish I could be more like I was when I was younger. I have more hopes and I had faith in a system that somehow will give me some retribution at the end of the day regardless some people's lack of gratitude. But now I am getting tired and less hopeful. But I don't know about your experience.
