I'm on 54mg Concerta in the morning which equals to 12mg Ritalin 3x a day. My psychiatrist dropped it down from 72mg (16mg Ritalin 3x a day) and said that he would give 27mg at noon for a total of 81mg (18mg Ritalin 3x a day) and to try NAC 4 pills a day for ADD and chronic fatigue syndrome.

I'm in the hospital now and my new psychiatrist said to wait a few days to see how my sleep is before I get 27mg at noon because I brought 60x 50mg Nozinan with me to take if I can't sleep in the hospital but never take it because once the 54mg Concerta wears off after 7-8 hours, I get extremely tired and then fall asleep at 9pm every time when my head hits the pillow. Also 54mg isn't really enough to be alert but at least I can stay awake.

I'm thinking of taking Modafinil or something instead of the 27mg at noon because my appetite is dead.

Also I exercise every morning and go to group therapy sessions a few times a day but I also want to upgrade my high school courses while I'm here so I need to be able to focus when the Concerta wears off which is my free time.

Does Modafinil/Armodafinil help you focus personally? How good is it for keeping you awake? If possible, is it better than 27mg Concerta which equals to 6mg of Ritalin 3x a day?

What is it called in Canada if anyone knows? I looked up online and its either called Modafinil (Waklert) or Armodafinil (Nuvigil) but I'm not sure.

Another reason as to why I don't want the extra 27mg Concerta is because my disability doesn't pay for it and insurance doesn't either when my Abilify pills and injection insurance runs out and switches to disability coverage but Modafinil or Armodafinil is covered by disability.
