Hey Gabriel, - this post is ***triggering*****

I dunno if this will be any help because i am trying to understand this post and everyone here has written some good things (esp. Perna).
Personally i think there is a massive difference between SI and suicide. I cut to release my anger, to feel something,...a number of reasons.
Of course the article is right - you are more likely to have an 'accident' and bleed out if you cut than someone that does not SI, but most of the time, people that do cut never get to that point. For me....I 'know' when enough is enough.
That is not to say that cutting doesn't progress - it is a harmful coping method that does need help to stop.
From another post of yours i know that you want to stop. I'm not sure fear is the thing that will stop you cutting totally. But I hope one day everyone here will find a way to comfort ourselves rather than hurt ourselves further.

Take it one day at a time. And be comforted that there are people here that have managed to find other ways to cope with the strong emotions that can lead to SI.
